    MasterWork II: Easter Eggs

    Dear friends! Introducing new feature on our server - Easter Eggs. If you are not familiar with Easter Eggs, first let's find out what are they. «Easter Egg» — secret in a game (also movies or software), added by developers. Easter eggs are inside jokes for attentive players. Usually they found by accident or by performing complex actions to find them. On our server Easter Eggs are hidden NPC all over game world in some secret places. They can refer to memorable events or just be in some places where you don't expect to find something unusual. Reward for finding an Easter Egg can be useful consumables or some certain item. This items are marked as Trophy to separate them from other items and also display its rarity. Items can be personal and tradable. There are two types of Easter Eggs: Single-use - only available to the first player to find an Easter Egg. Discovery will be announced in the global system chat; Unlimited use - available to all players but can be only used once per character. This secrets were in the game since launch day but only announced after first one was discovered. We did it on purpose because Easter Eggs are not supposed to be announced. Don't take it as an event or some sort of thing. It is what it is supposed to be, secrets that are hidden all over the world and you should keep secrets 😉 Player who will find an Easter Egg will be honored in this forum topic!

I know that you can't wait to scroll down and read about skills, but if your Clan Leader or Party Leader will read this part it will be awesome :) When we were making concept of MasterWork II we had the one essential idea: there is no need to change every aspect of the game that comes to your mind. Find problems and solutions instead. In other words, we don't like to make changes just to change something. Every change we make is either our own idea or your feedback on our updates. Let's take a look at Judicator as an example: We understood that class was only used as a box character and wasn't really good to be party member or even good for playing solo. First thing that could change that is to allow players to make it main class instead of sub class, which allows to participate in Olympiad and become a hero. But this is not the only thing that we wanted to change. We looked deep into class ability pool and decided what abilities can make that class useful. Did it work out? Hell yeah! Stats say that class became much more relevant. But did it become OP? We don't think so. But it was clearly much stronger than we expected it to be. But honestly it was some kind of our plan. Only if you show something that is OP, it can draw more attention and motivate players to use unpopular classes like Inspector. And after real field tests it became decent main character in players minds. Then we started working on our MW II project. Do we have to make some changes for this class? Definitely! But we are not going to make a rollback to it's initial form and make it useless again. So we found main issues with the class and made changes that don't make class useless but also make it less powerful. This is how we work with every class that needed changes the most. Many of you might say that Mages or Gladiators are way too strong and needs nerf. We don't think so. We are aiming on making outsider classes to become better and compete with the meta, instead of nerfing strong classes. We used to say meta, but let's find out what meta really means. Meta is some pool of elements, made by developers, that were not created as the core of gameplay but became it. Acronym META means Most Effective Tactics Available. This is what players used to see in the game: mages farm with Aura Flash, Destroyers smash Raid Bosses, Archers do their long range snipes with assistance. And this is how it was for many years and we don't want to break it. But here comes the magic word Balance. It is important, but it doesn't work like you used to think. Balance is a synonym to equality, this way we get into situation where is every class is equal to any other and there is no separation for supports, dealers, healers etc. They just can't be if every class is equal. Instead of rough balance there is Asymmetric Balance. This is the balance which supposed to make one class better than second but weaker than third. The best example is "rock-paper-scissors" game. Rock beats scissors but loses to paper, scissors beat paper but lose to stone, paper beats stone but loses to scissors. Means that any choice is effective but not equal to other two. Now let's sum it up. We are not trying to change essential game rules built by players through the years, we want to diversify it. We are not nerfing strong classes, we are making outsiders better and competitive, updating both strong and weak abilities. Hope this explains some of our thoughts and now you know how we approach game changes. We are still working on MasterWork and after a year we still going with our ideas. Our goal is to develop and support the game that will be relevant for you. And this is only starting. Our history and MasterWork development. Eleven months we support first MasterWork and advertising more than a year. We are not afraid to take responsibility, find solutions to problems and for us MasterWork is our work that we love.   3. Dear players! MasterWork is not only about stages, changed skills/items and a huge online presence. Also an important point in refining our product are changes and improvements to existing locations and the addition of new ones. Large online presence on MasterWork servers literally screams about the need to expand the existing number of spots. Daily PvP is very cool content and is the basis for our servers. However, between exciting and important battles, time is also needed for farming. Every season we improve and update locations and this season was no exception. Thus, there were no locations left that did not change at all: expanding the number of quest monsters and NPCs, increasing spots, fixing/adding resources/items, and so on. However, there are locations that we would like to highlight separately. Arenas of the Great Olympics The Olympiad are one of the important elements of the game and we are working to improve them. We are also expanding the number of arenas and working on their “weak spots”. 4 pillars; Fountain; Something new 😉 Castles The passages have been expanded, creating opportunities for additional strategic and tactical maneuvers. Main Locks: Gludio; Dion; Giran; Innadril; Oren; Aden; Goddard; Schuttgart; Rune. Mid Company: Gludin; Human (Talking Isle); Dark Elven; Elven; Orc; Dwarven; Kamael (if necessary) Special locations The passages have been expanded, creating opportunities for additional strategic and tactical maneuvers. Seed of Destruction; Ant Nest; Business Ship . Subjected to deep reworking The maps were expanded to create new spots and passages. New mechanics, increased the number of monsters and spots, their spawn time and adjusted drops. Cruma Tower New spots (rooms) were added on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and the number of monsters was increased. The monsters themselves remained unchanged.     MW ll: Territory Wars

Any character above level 40 can participate. Note! You need to be at least level 61 to complete TW quests and get territory badges as reward. Registration will be closed in 2 hours before TW start; Members of a clan that owns a castle will have territory stat bonuses even if territory ward is moved to another territory. Note! Bonus will not be doubled if you still own territory ward. Wards cannot be carried out of Combat Siege Zone. If a character that carries ward leaves Combat Zone for more than 15 seconds, ward will disappear. You won't be able to invite characters to your clan one hour before TW start and for the entire event. Resurrection type skills will not work in Combat Zones during Territory Wars. Please note! Build Headquarters, Outpost Construction or Crystals in Castles will not affect Resurrection skills. Charm of Courage - will work as intended; When a character is dead, it can be teleported to outpost, flag or castle without any restrictions.     MasterWork II: Clan System

    On MasterWork server we are using special schedule for in-game events for Epic Bosses in particular. What have been changed: Respawn time: All Epic Bosses respawns and other important game events take place on evenings with fixed time. This helps players to focus on game events and don't miss any battles Limitations: On each stage there will be limited number of Epic Bosses. Bosses will change as server develops, this change made to avoid boredom of daily routine. However, Epic Bosses that leaving the world will appear later in their instance-zone versions so you will still be able to obtain specific Epic Jewelry. Levels: We are using stages and phases system so Bosses will grow as server develops. For example if Queen Ant has level 55 on the first stage, but on later stages her level will be increased to 60 and then to 70. Loot: Each Boss drop list will improve as server develops. In addition to better equipment bosses will also drop additional jewelry. For some Epic Bosses chances will be 150% which means Boss will drop one piece with 100% chance and another with 50% chance.   8. Instance zones - best places to spend time outside open world PvE. Good drop, simple rules and isolation from open game world makes them essential for almost any player. But what happens when number of such zones is increased with every stage and players don't have time? The game becomes instance zone simulator and nobody likes it. We don't really like it when happens. Literally any player has a chance to spend time effectively with no competition but still have strong character to compete with other players. We decided to change schedule and number of available instance zones for every stage so you still can get some good bonuses but don't spend your entire CP time for them. Depending on server Phase and Stage some of instance-zones that you already used to will be removed and new zones will be added to replace them. For example Kamaloka: Hall of the Abyss and Labyrinth of the Abyss более won't be available after level 70. Instance zones Core and Orfen will be added to replace them. It doesn't mean that Kamaloka will completely disappear: characters of suitable level will still can enter, but 70+ instance-zones won't be available.   10. Dear players! For the 4th season of the MasterWork server, we are preparing for you a unique update of the Grand Olympiad . It will affect modes, arenas, their selection, as well as general improvements. If the Grand Olympiad is an integral part of your gameplay, we recommend that you carefully read all the innovations and changes! Best of Three On the 4th season of the MasterWork server , we introduced a new unique system for the Grand Olympiad - Bo3 ! Bo3 (Best of 3) - “Best of Three” or “up to 2 victories”, a system that allows you to determine the winner in 3 battles (if necessary), in other words “up to two victories” according to the principle “without class restrictions, 1x1” . Now that you have gone to the Olympiad and an opponent has been selected for you, you will fight with him until one of you gets 2 victories. Thus, if the score is 1-1, the battle will move to the 3rd arena. Let's take a closer look : You register for the Olympiad (as usual); An opponent is selected for you and teleported to a random arena ; Note! We have expanded the number of Arenas to 9. You will meet both familiar arenas and new ones. More on this separately. All the usual functionality is available to you: NPC Buffer; Time to prepare before the start of the fight. At the 50th second (10 after the teleport), your CP\HP\MP will be restored. Various situations : When restarting/exiting/relogging at any time during the battle (after moving from the city to the Olympiad): The character who made the restart will be declared a loser and points will be deducted from him (and awarded to the opponent); A character who makes a restart will receive a Registration Penalty - within 10 minutes he will not be able to register for the Olympiad; Note! The OBT is set to 2 minutes. A draw means two characters lose (both will lose points); If the first two battles are a draw, there will be no third battle and the characters will move to the city; If in one of the battles there is a victory for one player, and in the other there is a draw, you will be moved to the 3rd arena; In this case, the player who wins once will have a chance to get 2 points and win, and the second will have a chance to get one, tie on points and cause a draw (which leads to the defeat of both characters). The minimum number of available battles within Bo3 is two, the maximum is 3. Additional information : Limit on the number of battles: 50 (instead of 100); Other Olympiad modes will be disabled. The number of points is awarded as usual; The number of Noblesse Gate Pass and Olympiad Token will be increased proportionately. New Arenas The base number of arenas has been expanded from 3 to 9 . You will be able to see both the usual, changed and new Arenas. In the new Arenas, some “usual” things may work differently: unusual shots, secluded places, and so on. We recommend that you study them, come up with new tactics and strategies. The overall changes of the Olympiad open up enormous space for imagination and new possibilities. Try it 😉 Ban&Pick (coming soon) Currently in the final stages of development is a new system of Bans and Picks (blocking and selecting) Arenas, which will allow you and your opponent to block arenas that you definitely do not want to participate in, as well as select arenas that you definitely want to participate in. After the development and introduction of the Bans and Picks system, it will complement the Bo3 system and work together. In this case, moving through the arenas will not be random, but from the list you select. General logic: After moving to the Olympiad, a window with 7 arenas will appear in front of you and your opponent; In order of priority, you will do the following: Player_1 blocks the arena; Player_2 blocks the arena; Player_1 selects an arena; Player_2 selects an arena; Player_1 blocks the arena; Player_2 blocks the arena; The 7th arena is automatically selected and will become the 3rd arena if needed during the battle. Based on your feedback and our experience, we believe that the new Olympiad may seem unusual, but in the long run it will become a favorite and take its place on par with other successful innovations of MasterWork. Noblesse status cost reduced from 100 to 50 Badges; First Territory Wars will be available for all characters (not only for castle owners) and will start right after castle sieges where all 9 castles will have owners.
